We raised an amazing $2,067 across our sites to support the Cancer Council. Every dollar raised makes an incredible difference to those impacted by cancer.
An extra thank you to the team at North Yarra Main who donated the bottle of Dimple for the Raffle, which contributed $195 to our donation and congratulations to Chris Povey on his win.
Paulina headed off on Maternity Leave
We had a great send off for Paulina’s last day before starting her maternity leave.
Great fun was had by all, especially playing “Pin the Dummy on the Baby”. Ola was the clear winner, with obvious recent experience, the same couldn’t be said for others!
Thanks to everybody who chipped in for Paulina’s Baby Shower Gift, we put a lovely hamper together and she was most appreciative. Watch this space for news of the new arrival.
April Reward & Recognition Award – Andrew James (otherwise known as AJ!)
Swabbing on the 972MSCL suction line ripped in half and was stuck 60m’s from the exit point, so was not retrievable, as the pump setup was pushing the swab through pipe.
AJ thought outside the box and came up with the idea to ask Melbourne Water if it was possible to bypass the line to increase water flow and velocity to release the swab from its stuck position.
Melbourne Water discussed the proposal with operators and the safety team and we were given the green light. The bypass was opened up with Melbourne Water Operations assistance and the swab was immediately released from its stuck position and proceeded to came out of the exit hole.
This follows Framework Safety Behaviour 4 – Plan, Discuss, Understand and Follow – Talk it through to understand the risk.
Great job AJ! Enjoy your $150 gift voucher.
May Reward & Recognition Award – Jackie Starzer
SFP were the only Melbourne Water supplier to submit their ICN compliances on time!
How did this happen? Jackie took the initiative to teach herself Power BI to assist in the development of the tool to produce the necessary data in a time period that allowed us to meet the ridiculous timelines of the Victorian Government body who monitor the LIDP spend.
SFPJV were the only contractor working for Melbourne Water who met their deadline for all reports for the period. We wouldn’t be surprised if it was the first occurrence of this outcome.
Jackie displayed Customer Focus, Relationship Management, Value Added Thinking and Data Driven Decisions.
Keep up the great work and enjoy your $150 gift voucher.
