2025 kicked off with the annual ‘Our Safety Focus’ campaign, this year being ‘The Role We Play – Safer, Stronger, Together’. This involved face to face sessions at all active sites. For those who could not make it in person, an e-learning version was available. The session was mandatory for all employees and was completed accordingly by all by end of January. SFP also delivered a toolbox talk summarising some of the safety trends identified throughout 2024 with a view of improving our performance in certain areas.

SFPJV delivered toolbox talks across the projects on the subjects of ‘Housekeeping’ and ‘Fatigue’.
A thorough review of SFP’s Excavation Standard, Permit and training resources has also been completed to help improve compliance across the Program of works. Completion of training modules for current permit issuers and recipients is expected by end of March.
Temporary Works Design training was also delivered for key personnel to help improve their knowledge of this important aspect of construction and internal system compliance requirements.
KPI 1 SFP TRIFR

Both the rolling 12-month and YTD TRIFR are currently at zero.
KPI 2.1
Monthly Safety Leadership Meetings Measurement of Monthly MW Safety Leadership Forum Attendance by both the SFP Services Manager and HSEQ Manager or their nominated proxies. Each of the individuals (or their proxy) will receive 0.5 points for each attendance. Annual score is total attendance score divided by number of months (9 in this case as KPI begins in October Quarter) and reported as a percentage.

KPI 2.2
Front Line Leaders Safety Walks & Workplace Inspections – This KPI began in October Quarter. Although project activities are close to their lowest levels, safety walks and inspections continue to take place at an acceptable level.

This KPI began in October Quarter. The numbers below do not include instances where SFP has requested MW attendance however MW could not make it.


KPI 2.4
Near Miss & Hazards reporting is on track to reach MCOS and Stretch targets of 96 and 120 respectively.

KPI 2.5
Timely Reporting & Closure of Events – This involves reporting of high potential events or injuries resulting in RWI, MTI or LTI etc. in accordance with MCD Service Provider Notification Guide (SPNG).
A scoring table to be developed in line with MW requirements.
